Welcome to your new home of small, self-contained apps!
It's 2024. Today's mainstream apps are bloated, sloppy, and won't even run without hundreds of megabytes (or gigabytes) of extra software dependencies.
By contrast, when you find a tiny, self-contained app, you just know that care and passion has gone into creating it.
This website is for people who wanna defy the status quo, by sharing and using new apps that are lean and self-contained.
How it works
This site is a directory of links to new software written by people who care.
There are categories for both current OSs and retro platforms. We'll add more categories as needed.
For people who want to write simple, fun software, often the classic platforms are easier and more fun to work with, and they still attract crowds of retro-enthusiasts.
Get listed!
Email us a link to your software. Include the title, a brief description, and a link to the website for your software. Also include the OS it runs on and the total download size. If it meets the guidelines we'll list it here.

Guidelines
- The app must be smaller than 2 megabytes when unzipped.
- The app should be relatively self-contained. It should not depend on an installer, an automated installation process, or separate installation of many/large dependencies.
- For apps that require software dependencies to be installed by the user, they should be bundled with the app, and should be simple enough for the user to install manually by following instructions in your README file.
- Apps should not download updates, do usage telemetry or download extra files (unless the app is literally, something like, a file downloader). Self-contained means self-contained!
- The latest version should be from 2024 or newer to show users that you still care.
FAQ
Why does this website look primitive/unfinished?
- The web is supposed to be unfinished! It's more fun that way.
- To fit the theme by being as minimal as possible.
- By not including any CSS styling, your web brower is in charge of this website's appearance.
Why only new software when there's so much old software out there which fits into 2 megabytes?
- Because the world needs to know that new generations of programmers still care.
I wrote an app years ago but I still want to get it listed here
- Just release a new version (or let us know that you're planning to). As long as the latest version is from 2024 or newer, that demonstrates to users that you still care.
